The Chamber Foundation offers two scholarships to local graduating high school seniors: one $1,000 scholarship and one $500 scholarship. These scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors exemplifying outstanding leadership qualities.
Qualifications are as follows:
⇒ Student must be a graduating senior living in Douglas County;
⇒ Student must have a cumulative 3.5 grade point average or higher;
⇒ Student must plan to attend an institution of higher learning;
⇒ Student needs to have demonstrated leadership experience through school, community activity and/or work experience;
⇒ Student must submit two recommendation letters, one by a representative from school and one by a member of the business community; and
⇒ Student must write a 500 word essay on a leader he/she admires and the leadership qualities that leader exemplifies.
The winning students will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Douglas County Chamber Foundation.
Application packets must be received by the Chamber office by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Emailed or faxed applications will not be accepted.

Recipients will be notified by April 30, 2021, and award presentation will be held during the Community Leadership Luncheon on May 19, 2021.
The student will submit to the Chamber Foundation:
⇒ Completed application form;
⇒ One official copy of the student’s transcript;
⇒ One letter of recommendation from a school representative (sealed and on official school letterhead);
⇒ One letter of recommendation from a business representative (sealed and on official business/organization letterhead); and
⇒ A 500-word essay on a leader he/she admires and the leadership qualities that leader exemplifies.
