Welcome to Alexander High School

Welcome to Alexander High School, where our mission is to provide a quality education for all students in a safe, supportive environment designed to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Alexander High School is known for its mantra: belong, have fun, and learn. Our unique asset is the AP Capstone Program which has a two-course sequence: AP Seminar and AP Research and complements the rigor of AP courses and exams. School year '15-'16 marked our inaugural graduating class for our Capstone Program, which granted them admission to some of the most prestigious, nationally ranked universities in the country. The concerted efforts of our teachers and staff, our students, parents, and community leaders have helped to make our school successful in earning the highest CCRPI scores in the West Georgia area.

At AHS, all students can capture the spectrum of the high school experience. The upcoming school year will mark the third year of the Liberal Arts Magnet Program, which includes in-depth studies in math, science, social studies, English/language arts, and fine arts. It is our belief that students flourish in educational environments where they have the opportunity to examine ideas critically, and read, write, and speak effectively which allow students to meet the demands of the 21st century. Alexander is proud to broadcast that that our AP Capstone students and the Liberal Arts College Preparatory magnet students earned a 3.6 GPA or higher. We experienced an increase in our ACT and SAT scores, and our graduation rate is 94%, higher than the state average.

While our academic programs have garnered us many achievements, our athletic programs have clenched several honors in both the region and state.  All 16 extracurricular programs qualified for the state playoffs and several won Region Championships.  AHS capped off another successful year in the spring when the girl’s track team captured the 6A State Championship for the first time in our school's history.  The team brought home championship medals in the high jump (Jazzmine Taylor), the 100 meter (Vivette Green), and the 800 meter and 1600 meter (Brenda Ayuk).   Additionally, Coach Robinson was named the NTFF Coach of the Year Award.  Finally, we celebrate Ms. Debbie Rager who will represent AHS as our 2018-19 Teacher of the Year.
