West African Drumming Club

Welcome!
The West African Drumming Club exists to provide a joyful and entertaining service to the community!  Participants will experience West African culture while learning traditional rhythms and playing them on authentic Djembe and Dunun drums.  They will be given the opportunity to share what they learn as the drum club performs several times a year.

The club is designed for various levels of experience.  If you have no musical experience at all, we got you.  If you have been playing several instruments for years there's something new for you.  No matter what instrument you play or if you are a singer, dancer or are in to music production, there is something exciting for everyone to learn!

The club season is almost year around and there will be both before and after school rehearsals. Students can join anytime so that they can participate in other activities along with the drumming club.  For example, marching band students can join after the marching season, or spring sport athlete can participate until their season starts.

Currently this is a free club, no dues and instruments are provided!  This subject to change at anytime.

If interested, please email Mr. Warrington, stop by his office in room 9 at AHS or stop by a rehearsal (follow the sounds of the drums)!
