Students interested in pursuing dual enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year must view the DCSS Virtual Dual Enrollment Meeting (verified by the Dual Enrollment Viewing Confirmation form) and they must complete the DCSS Dual Enrollment Student Contract for 2021-2022.  All of this can be found on the
DCSS School Counseling Dual Enrollment website.  You may also reach out to our Dual Enrollment Coordinator, Mr. Plumley ([email protected] / 770-651-6036) or your student's counselor with any questions.

For step by step instructions, see the ALEXANDER HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLMENT PROCESS CHECKLIST.

Dual Enrollment is a state-funded program that allows students to take college courses while still in high school.  Dual Enrollment grades appear on the high school transcript and on the student’s college transcript – following them throughout their college career.  Several changes were implemented prior to the 2020-2021 school year that parents/guardians and students should be aware of:

  1. Dual Enrollment is available to 11th and 12th grade students (10th grade students may take CTAE courses at technical colleges, no 9th graders will be funded).
  2. Dual Enrollment only pays for core courses (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language) or CTAE courses.
  3.  Dual Enrollment will only pay for up to 30 credit hours.
  4.  Students who withdraw from two (2) Dual Enrollment courses become ineligible for future Dual Enrollment funding.
