The Georgia Student Health Survey 2.0 is an anonymous, statewide survey instrument that identifies school climate issues that impact student achievement. In order to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for your child, the Georgia Department of Education collects survey information from students during the school year. The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and covers various topics such as school climate and safety, alcohol and drug use and mental health. All student survey data is anonymous and self-reported.

School climate refers to the quality and character of school life – the “culture” of a school. A sustainable, positive school climate fosters youth development and student learning, which are essential elements for academic success, career-skill improvement, and overall quality of life.
The School Climate Star Rating assesses the climate of a school – each school in Georgia receives a one- to five-star rating, with five stars representing an excellent school climate and one star representing a school climate most in need of improvement.
Alexander High School has received a climate star rating of 4 stars, a rating which merges survey responses from students, personnel, and parents.  The survey window opens in October 2018 and closes in February 2019.  Under Federal Law, parents have the right to review the questions on the survey as well as the option to opt of their child participating in the survey.
